Beth is my wonderful friend/photographer that takes my cake photos and photos of my kids! She isn’t really a product photographer but she has been so great in taking mine for me. She loves taking newborn photos so maybe I’ll have one soon for her to take pictures of! Here is some of her work.

Girly Cakes

March 30, 2010

These are some of the girly cakes I have done. All of these flowers I have made out of sugar paste.

This is a simple purple cake. It is maybe my favorite cake I have done. It is kind of modern looking to me.

This cake is super feminine…lots of sugar rose buds.

This cake has a sugar peony on top, it is very girly.

Kids Cakes

March 30, 2010

These cakes have toys on them. Toys don’t take quite as long as making everything out of something edible, and it still looks cute!

I did this cake for a little girl whose mom told me she loves fairy’s. I made the figurine to look like the birthday girl! Her mom said she was over the moon for it…yay!

The was a cake I did for my son Aiden’s first birthday party. The party was cowboy themed. The boy was made out of sugar paste and marsh mellow fondant and the hat I made out of chocolate.

Cupcakes

March 29, 2010

More cupcakes…….!

I made these cupcakes for my friend Beth’s brother’s birthday. I made the tires out of candy and some of the other parts are made out of marsh mellow fondant.

This sea shell is made out of white chocolate ( yum) and the brown sugar is meant to look like sand! If your ever going to do a beach cake use brown sugar..it looks just like sand doesn’t it?

This Golf ball is made with white chocolate. My husband told me i HAD to put the Nike swoosh and number on it.

Happy Halloween! I think monster cupcakes are so fun to do. These are more fun then scary…! I think my favorite is the orange one on the bottom with the yellow teeth.

Swirly cupcakes

March 29, 2010

This is 250 cupcakes for the Celebrations of Faith dinner. I thought the bright-colored flowers looked great. I wasn’t completely done yet when these photos were taken.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! These cupcakes were made for the Celebrations of Faith dinner at my church. It was 350 cupcakes! They took up my whole table and counter top. Lol it was exhausting but fun! Thanks mom for the help!

I added edible sparkles to these cupcakes! You can see them the best in this picture but they were way more sparkly in person.

These are some of the cupcakes I have done. The kids really love the bright ones!

Hello world!

March 28, 2010

Hello everyone, my name is Joanna Traeger I am the owner of St Catherine Cake Art. My first cake I ever did was a lion cake for my son’s zoo themed first birthday party. I thought it was pretty fun so i stated doing any other cakes I was asked to do. 5 years and many cakes later…with the support of my family, friends, and community ( Mount Angel, Oregon the best place on earth! ) I picked a business name and got my kitchen licensed to sell cakes!

My friend Beth Stafford photographs my cakes for me and does an excellent job! I have been wondering how to get the word out about my business (other than facebook) and a lovely photographer Rebecca Rodriguez told me to blog..so here I am! It’s going to be interesting figuring out how to work my way around this site but I’ll figure it out. I guess once upon a time facebook looked confusing but I’ve got the hang of that, lol

Besides the business my most important job is being a wife and mother of three children. My husband’s name is Daniel and my kids names are Cameron (5), Jamie (3), Aiden (1). God is the center of my life and will always be, he has given me everything in this world that matters the most!
